Bio
Erika Grench is 2d artist who is originally from the bay area of California and currently lives in the Trinity Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in Spring 2025 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2d Studio Art and a minor in Graphic Design. Currently she is focusing on painting and illustrating the objectification, commodification and control exerted on marginalized bodies. Grench’s primary interests are painting and figuration in oil, watercolor and prints, as well as ceramics, embroidery and other textiles using her own insecurities and rejection, to depict the beauty of fat bodies and to make a place just for them. She has exhibited in several galleries at Sam Houston State University including the X Space, Satellite Gallery and The University Annual Student Juried exhibition curated by Mary Magsmen in Spring of 2023.
